Gets Bible On His 90th Chapter Of CGA Slated
DEL HAVEN - Robert Noble Kerr, who recently celebrated his 90th birth day was guest of honor at the Fair View Village Church in Camden, where he was a member for 51 years Kerr was presented with 90 Gideon bibies during this celebration Along with family and friends were 45 of the old members Kert was born Oct. 1, 1893 in Belfast. Northern Ireland In 1923. at the age of 30. he came to this coun* try His ship arrived in Boston on Labor Day THREE DAYS later Kerr, his wife May and son moved to Camden He worked at the New York Ship Yard 1923-1935 From 1935 to 1946 he worked in the Navy Ship Yard in Philadelphia In 1949 he returned to the
New York Ship Yard, where he worked until he retired in 1958. He remained in Camden until May. 1971, when he moved to Del Haven, where he still resides Kerr senes as an elder of the Covenant Bible Church in Fishing Creek, where h< has been an active member for 11 years Of his lour children. Kerr has jMe surviving son. Ged<j/K. who resides with his family in Fairfax. Va. He has three grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter
CAPE MAY - An organizational meeting to form a local chapter of Catholic Golden Age will be held in the Dug out, the basement of the rectory at Our Lady Star of the Sea church, 525 Washington Mall, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. This national non-profit organization of mature men and women over 50 was founded in 1975 and its current active membership numbers over 350,000 in the United States. Canada and
Puerto Rico. The purpose and programs of CGA Chapters cover six general areas of concern to all members; social, health and welfare, educational and cultural, volunteer service in the parishes, spiritual and advocacy — a voice in the community. MEMBERSHIP is open to anyone over 50 years of age regardless of religion, sex, race or place of residence. One does not have to be a CGA member
