Marks Her 102nd Birthday COURT HOUSE - Celebrate a 102nd birthday and you can be sure you’ll be asked the secret of long life. Ann Mesler marked that event at the Cape May Care Center Oct. 28 and gave this advice: “In order to live a long life, one must not worry. Live a decent life, a life without sin, and especially be kind to everyone. “I say my rosary every day. I pray for my people and everyone. I usually say them before breakfast. I have consideration for everybody, no matter what they do to me. I forgive them; that helps you through a good life. So I think that’s what kept me living, just living a decent life." Mesler was born in Greenville, 111. and traveled on crusies to the Bahamas, cross-country to San FYancisco, Portland, Oregon and Montana. She crossed the country five times with her husband, now deceased. “My husband used to travel to Paris on business trips," she said “and bring back fine gifts for me. The gifts were so beautiful: perfume, clothing, hats." Mesler likes the outdoors and still enjoys taking walks when weather permits. “In my younger days I used to like to be in the snow and ice skate, sled and just walk through the snow," she said. Mesler walks with the assistance of a cane and takes her meals in the center’s dining room.

Q. PLEASE TELL me how to cancel my medical insurance. I can no longer afford to pay the preminms. A. You may cancel your medical insurance by filing a written notice. Your protection and your obligation to pay premiums will stop at the end of the calendar quarter after the quarter in which your notice is received. You should get in touch with a Social Security office if you are considering cancellation. There may be other options available to you. Cancelling your medical insurance is a serious decision as you may have no financial protection if you incur large medical expenses, and you will probably have to pay higher premiums if you ever wish to re-enroll
