Blood Gift Pins Given

AVALON - The bloodmobile collection held in Mans Stella Audi tonum Oct. 10 was a success, according to Mrs. Marjorie Jones borough community Red Cross Representative. Mrs Jones was very pleased \*ith the 51 pints collected. she said, especially since such a large percentage of the 2,200 year-round residents are senior ■citizens or otherwise not able to donate blood. For this reason. Mrs. Jones further said, it is important for medically eligible residents to be donors. According to Mrs Jones the high point of the day was the presenting of seven pins for giving a gallon or more. Receiving pins were: five-gallon pins, James S. Wittmeyer, merchant, and Charles E. Richardson, construction business; twogallon pins Harry Clayton, fire marshall, and onegallon, Theresa M. Ripp, ResCue Squad, Stephen Narigan. businessman; Lt. Louis E. Taylor, police dept., and William J. Salvemson. Jr., businessman.

Register of Historic Places. That proposal will be aired at a 7:30 p.m. meeting Friday in the Dennis Township building, Petersburg Road. A member of the Office of New Jersey Heritage ' staff will be on hand to explain the implications of State and National •Register listings and will answer questions from the audience. Some 62 dwellings would be affected if the village were designated historic in the National Register.

Copies of State and National Register information and laws, the district application for historic designation and related data will be available for public inspection at the township building this week.
