PETERSBURG - Former Cape May County Freeholder WilJiam Wilsey, a Republican this week announced his endorsement of Democrat James lannone of Sea Isle City for freeholder. Wilsey had himself been an independent candidate for the post, but bowed out in September while vowing be would continue to oppose incumbent Republican William E. Sturm Jr. His statement backing lannone charged Sturm “padded” the county budget while saying funds were unavailable for a county employe pay hike. Wilsey said Sturm negotiated with county employes. Actually, an outside attorney negotiated Wilsey also charged Sturm was "negotiator and spokesman for the county ” in determining the $540,000 price the county paid for the Cape May Couifcy Savings and Loan building, which the county appraised at $400,000. Actually, Sturm and his Republican running-mate, Ralph W. Evans, negotiated the price. Wilsey said lannone would “offer a proper dissenting voice on the Freeholder board and offer an effective and responsible way of looking at the county’s problems.” Wilsey said he is a ‘‘lifelong Republican.” He Schaffer Ends Her AF Basic WILDWOOD - Airman Denise L. Question TRENTON — The state Bar Association has endorsed the proposed constitutional amendment to establish a Family Court, which will be on the ballot on Nov. 8. The constitutional amendment would establish a family part of the Superior Court with jurisdiction over all family and juvenile-related legal matters. State bar trustees support the change, which would unify the court system by abolishing county district courts and juvenile and domestic relations courts, and transfer their jurisdictional powers to the Superior Court. According to state Bar President Vincent J. Apruzzese, of Springfield, the creation of a single Family Court can help to maximize resources and avoid duplication. “Family Court attempts to consolidate a variety of judicial and social resources which are presently dispersed among different courts and agencies,” he said. “In this way, the courts would be able_to do the best job po«fele in helping to resblve juvenile and matrimonial problems.” The Family Court concept has been endorsed by the Supreme Court Committee on Matrimonial Utigation. In 1977, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges endorsed a resolution calling upon each state to establish a single separate court with jurisdiction over all family-related problems.
