Thirty-five percent of the score will be based on judges’ interviews prior to the program and 15 percent for scholastic achievement. The remaining 50 percent will be based on youth physical fitness routine, poise and appearance, and creative and performing arts. THE REIGNING 1983 Junior Miss, Rita Lynne Willis, graduate of Middle Township High School, will be participating in the program .Competing from Lower Cape May Regional High School are Marion Edwards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Serena Edwards of North Cape May; Deborah Ann Shumway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shumway of Villas; Dawn Fay Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Snyder of Erma, and Bonnie Jo Trolli, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Trolli of West Cape May. Shumway will sing for"her creative and performing arts presentation while Edwards,
Snyder and Trolli will dance. Middle Township contestants are Pennilyn Bolinger, daughter of Cloyd Bolinger and Gail Havens of Court House; Aleen Bernice Gaskill, daughter of Mr. and jilrs. Robert Gaskill of Swainton; Pamela Harvey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey of Kio Grande; MaryAnn Modano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Pasquale Modano of South Seaville; Stephanie Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Alan Thomas of Court House, and Sharon Lynn Watkins, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Watkins of Whites boro Bolinger will sing, Gaskill will roller skate, Modano. Thomas and Watkins will dance. Harvey will play the clarinet for the creative and performing -arts presentation. WILDWOOD HIGH contestants are Rachelle Mane Cacci, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Giovanni Cacci of North Wildwood, and Melissa Jane Fairlamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fairlamb
of Wildwood Crest. Cacci will perform a jazz dance and Fairlamb will have a song presentation for the creative and performing arts portion Competing from Wildwood Catholic will be Kelly Caruso, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henny Blum of Court House and Joanne Vinci, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Vinci of North Wildwood. Caruso will perform a gymnastics and dance routine and Vinci will perform a piano medley for the creative and performing arts catagory. Junior Miss is a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting the positive accomplishments of American youth to the public by recognizing, rewarding, and encouraging excellence in young people. The National program was started in Mobile, Ala., in 1958. Cape May County has had a representative since 1975.
