CAPE MAY - In the first match Lighting Dimensions was paired against an undermanned Potter Team. In the first game Lighting Dimensions blew away the Potter team 15-2 with a multiple offense that was\oo much for the short-handed Potter team In game two Potter's Joe Halasz helped his team with a hustling effort despite a sprained ankle. Halasz' efforts were in vain, however, as Lighting Dimensions downed the Potter 15-5 with consistent serving The Potter struck back in game three behind the allaround play of Jim McKinley and Stu Cohen to win 15-13. The fourth game was nip and tuck all the way as there were several lead changes. Lighting Dimensions prevailed in the end. however, 15-11 as Ted and Rick Ferrante played exceptionally for the victors. The second match of the evening pitted the Spikers against perennial power 1 library 3. In the first game Library 3's Andy Butler was a spiking machine as Library 3 downed the Spikers 15-13. Game two also went to Library 3 as (Marge Butler and Dexter Faunty hustled themselves and library 3 to a 15-12 victory. The Spikers turned the tide in game three, however, as Rick Hall dominated play and the Spikers squeaked out the victory 15-13. In game four the Spikers battled back from an early deficit to come within a point (11-10) before Library 3 poured it on behind the spiking of Andy Butler and the serving of Mike Mooreand Jerry Miller to win it 15-10.
