CAPE MAY - The first ma tch in women's volleyball pitted the Shire against Thunder and Roses In game one the Shire jumped off to a quick &-0 lead before the serving of Arlene Fornabaio brought Thunder and Roses back to within two points at 8-6. All around court coverage by I/orraine Holt and Marlene Mediuch sealed the victory for the Shire at 16-14. The shoe was on the other foot, in game two as

Kona Women had an easy time of it as they limited the Havin' Fun team to a total offensive output of five points over the three games. Sparked by the front line play of Kathy Strang and Denise Zimmerman Kona Women defeated Havin’ Fun 15-3, 15-1,*15-2. Linda and Tami Thomas both played well for Havin' Fun throughout the night. In the final match of the evening perennial league power the Needlers went up against a game C-View team In game one the Needlers took charge right from the opening volley as the serving of Marion Lomack shut down the CView attack and the Needlers prevailed 15-8. The front line attack of the Needlers' Debbie Palmer. Michelle Bird and Patti Oswald proved to be too • much for the C-View attack came through with its best effort of the match as Sue Fitz brought C-View from a 14-7 deficit. However, it was to no avail as the Needlers closed the game out at 15-9.

COURT HOUSE-Army and Air Force reservists in the area are being sought by the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management for assignment to the County office under the Individual Mobilization Augmentation (IMA) Program. Reservists between the rank of E-6 and colonel are needed to assist in the disaster planning and operations of Emergency Management, where the skills they have acquired in the military will aid in the protection of local citizens at times of emergency. ACTIVE RESERVISTS may earn retirement point credits through their work periods with Emergency Management, which include their annual paid two-week tour of duty. Citing the valuable contributions made to Emergency Management work by reservists who

have served on the county staff, County Coordinator Lyndon Simmerman invited area reservists to contact the county office, which is located in the County Library-Office Building on Mechanic St. The phone number is 465-9406. Skills in administration, communications, planning and operations are of especial value to the Emergency Management program, Simmerman said. S Casey Gets His Wings WILDWOOD - Second Lt. John P. Casey, son of James A. and Mary V. Casey of 233 E. Juniper Ave., has graduated from U.S. Air Force Air pilot training, and has received silver wings at Williams Air Force Base, Ariz Casey will now serve at McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., with the 438th Military Airlift Wing. He is a 1982 graduate ofr the University of Arizona at Tucson.
