real estateExtension Fellowship To Olsen
Herald & Lantern 9 November '83
COURT HOUSE - Marion E. Olsen, Extension Home Economist for Cape May County, was awarded a Grace Frysinger Fellowship by the National Association of Extension Home Economists Oct 24. The award was presented during the association's annual meeting in Atlanta, Ga. Each year the NAEHE selects two home economists to each receive a $500 grant which allows them to study and observe family living education in other state or county Extension programs. Marion’s Fellowship will be used to study the consumer seafood education programs offered in the East Coast states. Her study will include mail and telephone surveys in 12 states and on site visits to selected counties and/or states. She will be seeking information about curriculums, visual aids, innovative methods and extension developed publications. She plans to incorporate new ideas into consumer
seafood programs in her county. As co-leader of a state seafood project she will provide new resources to extension home economists in the other counties of New Jersey. As a member of the Marketing Committee of the Mid Atlantic Fisheries Development Foundation she will share her findings with members of the
committee.
Ms. - Olsen has been a resident of Cape May County for 17 years. She received her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Cedar Crest College and Master’s from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of the American Home Economics Association and the Soroptimist International of Ocean City. The NAEHE awarded her the Florence Hall Award in 1974 and the Distinguished Service Award in 1977. -

PLEASANTVILLE - Temporary localized customer service extensions will be operated in Cape May County in the next two weeks by Atlantic
Electric.
The purpose of the odtreach program, which will staff each location with a customer service representative and a computer terminal, is to provide customers with more personal attention, said Paul Liepe, customer ser-
vice manager.
The county locations are the Wildwood Community Center, which will be in operation today and Nov. 22. and the Social Services Building, Rte. 9, Rio Grande, which will be in
operation Nov. 15.
-LAST WINTER’S pilot program for Cape May Ah County demonstrated a definite need in the community for such a service,’’ said Liepe, “so we’ve extended the 1964 program.’’ The extension service will enable customers to make payments, sign up for programs such as HEAP, third party notification or bill service, and submit bill inquiries without going to the Pleasantville Customer Service Center.
