Dumping On Dunes Under Fire
AVALON — Dumping of debris is endangering the dunes of the borough. Yvonne Ballinger, envirofr mentalist and planning board secretary, said in calling for strengthening

council.
In its schedule (or procedure, the city has set aside November for public input into the budget. Departments are to submit their proposed budgets to the city manager by Dec. 1, the manager will get the input of the planning board on the budget and meet with the departments during the month to prepare the tenUtive 1964 budget. The council is to introduce the 1964 salary ordinance Dec. 1, with public hearing and adoption of the
ordinance Dec. 19.
THE COUNCIL is scheduled to adopt the temporary 1964 budget Jan. 2, with Jan. 5 set for advertisement of the Revenue Sharing Hearing and planning board adoption of the
capital budget.
The weekend of Jan. 14 and 15, will have council budget reviews Nos. 1 and 2, (10 a.m.). A public hearing on revenue sharing will

“The dunes are our last line of defense against the ocean,’’ said Mrs. Ballinger. “If residents continue to dispose of lawn clippings, limbs, shrubs and Christmas trees on the dunes we will lose this defense. These things kill the dune grass and other material growth which hold the dunes together when the tides batter
them.”
The council will strengthen the ordinance and police will enforce it where needed. Disposing of Christmas trees on the beach is not a deterrent to erosion, officials said.

One Weekly Collection Of Trash SEA ISLE CITY - Residents of the city have been reminded by Commissioner J. Alan Gansert that once a week trash collections have been in effect since Nov. 1, in order to finish out the season within the Department of Public
Works budget.
The once a week schedule will continue to Feb. 28. The pickup schedule follows: First to 53rd St., Tuesdays; from 54th to 94th St.,
Wednesdays.
In addition, the winter recycling schedule is: Monday, First to 44th St.; Tuesday, 45th to 65th St., and Wednesday, 66th to 94th St.
