Tours, Specials Set Pace!/

Special holiday events and regular scheduled tours will highlight the Christmas activities sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) in Victorian Cape May. From Thanksgiving through New Year’s, every weekend will feature a full range of festivities that focus on the famous gingerbread architecture of America’s oldest seashore resort. MAC’S Christmas

Christmas Candlelight

Tour,

Friday Dec. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. This tour opens nearly a dozen of Cape May’s Homes and Churches that are noted for their festive holiday decorations. Tickets are available the day of the tour at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., and that evening at each of the

participating homes. Christmas Lights Trolley

Tours — Thursday evenings Dec. 15, 22, and 29, MAC’S enclosed trolley-bus will take the public on tours of the Christmas lights and decorations that festoon Cape May’s Victorian landmarks. These tours start at 8 p.m. (weather permitting) at the head of the

Washington Street Mall. TROLLEY TOURS of the

National Landmark District — These tours in MAC’S all-weather trolley-

bus introduce visitors to , the gingerbread fantasies that have made Cape May a national mecca for Victorian architecture. Beginning at the information booth at the head of the Washington Street Mall, trolley tours cost (3 per adult and $1 per child and run approximately every 45 minutes on the following schedule (Weather permitting): Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sundays (Except Dec. 25), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walking Tours of the National Landmark District — presenting a more indepth approach to Cape May’s architecture and history, walking tours are Ibb hours long aryl cost $3 per adult and $1 per child. They begin at the information booth at the head of the Washington Mall, and run on the following schedule (Weather permitting): Saturday, Nov. 26, 3 p.m.; Sundays (Except Dec. 25), 10 a.m. Tours of the Emlen Physick Estate — located at 1048 Washington St., this mansion was designed by the famous Philadelphia architect, Frank Furness, and was built in 1881. It contains an authenticallyrestored Victorian house museum, which will be beautifully decked out for the season with period holiday decorations. Estate tours also include the Carriage House (now home of the Cape May County Art League) and an outbuilding containing an exhibit of antique tools. Physick Estate tours are IV4 hours long, cost $3 per adult and $1 per child, and run every 45 minutes on the following schedule: Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Sundays (Except Dec. 25), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
