Skateboard Sessions Set

CAPE MAY - Skateboarding is making a big comeback in greater Cape May, and in an effort to provide the young enthusiasts with a safe, indoor environment for their revitalized sport, the city will offer “Open Skateboarding” every Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at ConvenUon Hall. This recreation program, which was initiated Nov. 2, is becoming increasingly popular and provides youngsters yet another constructive activity in which to channel their time and energy. Future plans call for the construction of a multipurpose wooden ramp, instruction in various phases of skateboarding, floor guards to help prevent carelessness and accidents and the possible rebirth of the Cape May Skateboard Tournament. For information regarding Open Skateboarding and/or other city leisure time activities call the Department of Civic Affairs 884-8411, ext. 20 or 27.
