Red Cross Sets Yule Benefits
COURT HOUSE - The County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a benefit celebration entitled: “Christmas in Court House", starting p.m. Friday. Middle Township Mayor Michael J. VoU will start the festivities when he lights the Christmas tree at Township Hall on Mechanic St. He will dedicate the two week-plus round of art show, hosnitality house, piano and organ concert, and Christmas House Tour. The Old Court House, on Route 9, Main St., will play host to: “Joy to the World, a Celebration by Two Artists", Dec. 3 and 4. Gerald Lynch, sculptor, and his wife, Cheryl Crews-Lynch, will give a joint showing of their sculpture and paintings. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Red Cross. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. ACROSS THE street, in the Victorian two-rpom doctor's office of Jonathan Hand, the Red Cross will roll out the welcome mat with a wine and cheese par-
ty from 12 to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the art/sculpture show, both Saturday and Sunday. Mulled cider will be available. Gerlad Lynch, sculptor, has carved reliefs on the National Cathedral in Washington, has shown in the House of Representatives there, has carved the statue of St. John Neumann in Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral* in Philadelphia and has won the gold metal with Allied Artists in New York. Crews-Lynch, a portrait painter and lover of the local flora and fauna, just completed the mural in Cape May which included such local portraits as Mrs. Catanoso, Gerald Lynch, Jude Burkhauser, Herbert Beitel and Janet Vance. Cheryl designed the mural. She is prepared to do charcoal portraits which may be arranged at the Art Show. dings at 10 S. Main St. An assortment of merchants will show their wares, and 20 percent of the proceeds will go to this Rad Cross. The boutique will change every third day. It will open with holiday clothing from Cross Country of Stone Harbor. Men’s feathersuede' will be available, too, and long, flannel nightshirts will make a cosy appearance as will Christmas ties. The tiny room will be fragrant with a Christmas tree donated by Shore Holly Farm and visitors will enjoy Cody Holland’s unique taste in antiques. The wooden Shuttle’s loomed rag rugs, Aunt Abigail's nostalgic handcrafted country items and an assortment of homemade baked goods provided by the Red Cross members. Fresh green wreaths will be available from Pine Lake Nursery, poinsettias from the Potters, and Christmas ornaments from Needle Me. Jamesway will provide toys, the Village Woodcraftfr will demonstrate stencils and show wooden toys and furnishings At Home Interiors in Stone Harbor will deck the halls with deep green Christmas towels, crystal ring holders, Christmas Linens and a host of other delec tables. Kitchen Konnection of Ocean City will display its wares, the Red Geranium of Avalon will have gift items, the Cooperage in Clermont will have afghans and dried flower and wreath arrangements. Alpha Hall/The Emporium of South Seaville and the Rocking Horse of South Seaville will display antiques and collectibles. The Primitive Pineapple will have stencils.
