IT’S BEGINNING to look a lot like Christmas: Don’t you agree? Toys in all the stores ... Are you dreaming of a white Christmas with every Christmas card you write, and write, and write? The shopping days until Christmas are dwindling down - but there’s plenty of time left to take care of everyone on your shopping list. The lay minute shoppers won’t paid heed — and they’ll wait until the very last minute to get started ... How about the night sky? One of the brightest stars in the December sky. Capella. is found below and to the right of the Queen s Chair, or Cassiopeia which looks something like the letter W upside down. Now we see the Great Square of Pegasus overhead at bedtime. This is a group of four stars arranged in a square and about Tiie same distance apart Like the Queen's Chair, this group of sjars has a beautiful legend about it in the stories of old mythology. Then as we look southeast on these winter nights we see the most beautiful star group in the sky. It is the Great Hunter, Orion. Four bright stars mark his shoulders and feet, three smaller ones his belt, and two others below these mark his dagger. You may be able to see three faint little stars at the top of the group that mark his head. As we went out way to mid-December, the days grow shorter and the weather colder. Now time approaches the heart of winter. It is low twelve on Nature’s clock...
