He’s the "green-grocer” of Texas Market in Cape May — none other than Cesare Orio. Recently back from a trip to Italy, Cesare and his wife, Rose, even thought of dear friends here, bringing little gift mementos. But more than ' that Cesare’s individual "green-grocer” advice to customers was sadly missed while he was away. If you want a head of lettuce and Cesare thinks you should take two because it is so fresh, no one doubts it. It’s two heads you buy. Something else too: that’s how much faitb we all have in this heart-warming man. A delight, to be sure. Social Action Committee of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Cape May, headed by Catherine McGill, recently had its Christmas Lgncheon meeting...presided over by Monsignor Patrick Madden, pastor. Sister Terese, directoress at Victorian Towers and members Joan Peckiconis, Julia O’Neill. Commander Betsy Hall. Mary Carr, Elva McDonald, Lurene McDonald, Catherine Fitzpatrick, Peg Sutter, Mary Brolie, Floss Marker, Betty Heun and Jeanette Collins attended. The food was delicious and so many baked goods for dessert. One very special one was Julie O’Neill's Magic Cookie Bars. So very special (I just had to ask for the recipe!). • • * NEWLY ELECTED officers of the Cape May Rescue Squad Auxiliary are Lena McVean, president, Ruth Thomas, vicepresident; Dot Ousey, recording secretary; and Alberta Whelan, corresponding secretary and Sunshine Lady. Incidently, prizes for the raffle held at the recent Bake Sale on the Mall went to Betty Gallagher, first prize of the food basket; and second prize, a delicious home-baked fruit cake, to Margaret Church.
