CHRISTMAS — is getting closer and closer. Can you believe it's just four days away. We hope you’re not one of those guys or gals who do everything at the last minute. At Christmas draws nearer, the youngsters heads are full of sugar plum thoughts. We hope you able Intake a little of that wonder for yourself and enjoy the holiday to the hilt. Merry Christmas to bne and all. Also coming up this week is the winter solstice on the 22nd. Tomorrow morning this occurence will take place at 5:30 A.M. EST. take heart — once the shortest day of the year occurs, the daylight hours will gradually start lengthening. Our Christmas is a rather recent development of that primal longing to stand up with their ritual for the winter solstice. The Romans did the same. Modern Scandinavians speak of a 2nd century Italian virgin called Holy Light (Santa Lucia;. The Jews call it Hanukuh. the festival of light. Basically all these celebrations have their stiriings in the unrelenting urge of life to hold out against death. The winter solstice and Christmas seem to go hand in hand. We notice that the sun which used to be up early and out late, now, like an eld man, gets up late and retires early. As we wend our way through the holiday^season, here are some warming places: CRYSTAL ROOM — winter buffet.
