StcuttKoi BIO Asbury Ava.,Ocean City 5 I

William E. Sturm Jr. of Rio Grande has been appointed community relations manager for New Jersey Bell in Atlantic and Cape May counties. He replaces' Jade Holcombe who recently retired. Sturm is one of eight community relations managers at New Jersey Bell who are responsible for a 10-county area stretching from Mercer County to Cape May County. “Our main job is -ib represent the company with the local newspapers and broadcasters, and to talk and work directly with local groups,” Sturm said. ‘‘Whether we’re talking about service, rates or company participation in a special community project, our aim is to make doing business with the phone company easy and beneficial to our customers.” Over the next several months, Sturm and his colleagues will be busy explaining to the public the implications of the divestiture of New Jersey Bell and the 21 other local operating companies from AT&T. “We’ll be helping our residence and business customers understand how to get service and maintain it, how to read our new phone bill and why these and other changes are being made in the telecommunications industry." Sturm has 28 years of service with the telephone company in such departments as distribution and network services.

WILLIAM E. STURM JR. He is a member of the Middle Township Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the United Way of Cape May County, and member of the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Cape May County.

Additional Contest Winner

CAPE MAY - The Vintage Homeowners Association inadvertently omitted special mdhtion of one private home with lovely lights and decorations in the announcement of the Christmas Lights Contest winners. The Christopher home at 1310 Maryland Avenue received special mention for its decorations which were installed by 16-year old Matthew Christopher. The Christmas Lights Contest committee regrets their omission and congratulates Mr. & Mrs. F. Christopher and Matthew for their contribution to the beauty of Cape May this holiday season.
