District Selling Seedlings
MAYS LANDING - The Cape-Atlantic Soil Conservation District is sponsor- , ing its annual tree sale. The sale will run January, February, March. Last date to order will be March 23 Three-year-old seedlings are available in a variety of t species, in addition to oneyea nold female holly trees. Offered are White Spruce, Japanese Black Pine, Austrian Pine, Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, White Pine, Norway Spruce and Scotch Pine. These varieties are available in bundles of 25 at a cost of $7 and bundles of 100 at a cost of 326. The one-year-old female holly trees, average height of 10 to 12 inches, are available at a cost of 33 per tree. NO SEEDLINGS will be mailed and buyers must be available in April to pick up the seedlings in Atlantic County at the Atlantic County Office Building, 1200 Harding Highway, Mays Landing, or at the Cape May County Extension Service Educational Center, Dennisvilie Road, Route 657, Court House. All orders are placed through the Mays Landing Office. All orders must be received and pre-paid before March 23. Orders are taken on a first-come, first serve basis. $0 substitutions will be made and no orders will be held past the pick up dates. There will be no refunds, and no phone orders will be accepted. New Castle, DE. — The Delaware River and Bay Authority announced at its December meeting that the number of vehicles crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge during 1983 has exceeded the previous traffic record set in 1973. William J. Miller Jr., authority director, said 18,923,120 vehicles crossed the twin span during 1973. •Hiat number was matched on Monday, Dec. 19.1983. A new traffic record is now reached with every crossing vehicle until New Year’s Day, 1964, at which time the annual volume is expected to reach 19.5
million.
The authority approved the results of an insurance study in which the replacement value of each span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge has been increased from 3187.5 million to 3199:5
