With expanded facilities, there is a need for more volunteers. Why help? Some veteran volunteers share their experiences and answers below:

“I Volunteer because I like people, and I like to help make their hospital stay as pleasant as could be. A smile and a helping hand to someone who cannot help themselves gives you a good feeling.” Kay Baker. (Floor X-ray) 2284 hours.

“I once witnessed a tragic accident and helped victims until an ambulance arrived. I decided then that I would volunteer at a hospital one day. At last I am able to fulfill my wish at BTMH.” Irini Sheets (Floor) 9 hours.

“I enjoy working as an employee of the hospital and feel I would like to contribute one or two evenings a week as a volunteer.” Elmer Reed, Sea Isle City (Lobby) 45 hours.

“Having recently become a widow, I felt I should find a worthwhile way to keep busy. At the information desk it is so rewarding to meet people who come to visit patients and to see their pleasure when I remember their names. I feel I am really helping." Peg Ferguson, Cape May (Lobby) 704 hours.

“Hike to help the hospital. Cashier work in the Cheeri-Corner keeps me hopping and I love it!” Margaret Noone, Stone Harbor (Cashier) 1781 hours.

“Tlie feeling of being needed is so important at any age, anil it is here at Burdette where one definitely realizes how much our volunteer work is appreciated. We count our blessings every time we walk out the door.” Florence W. Coyle, Stone Harbor (Floor) 1348hours.
