Tribute To King 'Monday

COURT HOUSE - A special program for Martin Luther King Day will be held at Mt. Olive' Baptist Church, East Atlantic Ave. between Rte. 9 and the Garden State Parkway, Monday, Jan. 16.' Sponsored by the Martin Luther King Day Freedom Committee, it will include music, remembrance, and presentation of awards to winners in the essay and poster contests, deadline for which is Friday, Jan. 13. The awards will be presented by Dorothy Mack, president of the Cape May County NAACP. Members of the Freedom Day committee, in addition to Mack, are Marilyn Ciccarone, Ocean View; Bernice H. Gordon, West Cape May; and John Kerman, North Cape May. Prizes of $50 for first and $25 for second will be awarded in the essay and poster contests, which were open to all countystudents in Grades 6 to 12. The topic is any aspect of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — his life, legacy, impact, ^ Christianity, non-violence, and the meaning of freedom.
