DUE TO a tighter budget, the motel association won’t be replacing its executive director Tom Parsons, who resigned to chair the public relations bureau. Parsons reports Ringer. Bowl, the beachfront cork ring "-stadium for our only national eyeni, the Mables Tournament, will receive a face lifting. “Sports Illustrated” and the national media will cover the June event. Efforts are being made to have a national celebrity crown the champion. Such luminaries as the late Arthur Godfrey and Kyle Rote have crowned previous champions. In addition, efforts are being made to tie in miniconclaves of national collectors of marbles, baseball cards and other memorabilia. Parsons implemented the highly successful motel plan that furnished most child guests with identification bracelets, similar to those used in hospitals. These were a boon to lifeguards and police seeking to reunite lost kids with their parents. This season, Parsons wants to take the program a step along with color coding of the beaches. Each beach from Diamond Beach north will have a color that a child could easily identify as his home base.
