Course Starts ‘ Monday
CREST HAVEN - The Vocational School District announced this week that it will start a new program called "Child Care Entrepreneurship"' on Monday, Jan. 23. The course is designed to help participants become selfemployed in child care. They will receive training for a variety of jobs in child care tip emphasis of the course-will be on caring for children at home. Stale law limits to five the number of children who can be cared for in homebased centers. Many mothers with a young child at home or senior citizens already perform this type of child care in an informal basis within their neighborhoods. A primary purpose of the program is to better prepare those who wish to, or already provide this,service. Participants will learn about health and first aid for children as well as how to prepare nutritious meals, make their homes safe, and set up a small business. They will’ be introduced to the State Family Day Care Organization, a group that brings together people and agencies involved in home day care. Enrollment was limited to 10. Voll Heads Middle March COURT HOUSE - Mayor Michael Voll of Middle Township has been appointed township chairman for the 1984 March of, Dimes by Madelyn Town, community service representative for the
charity.
Violl, a S3-year-old businessman, was recently sworn in for his second term as mayor, and has served on the township committee since 1982. - He said that be will work with his committee to place coin cannisters throughout businesses in the township as well as work on various other fuhd-raising activities. Among these are a bus trip to Caesar’s Boardwalk Casino Tuesday, Jan. 24. Call 465-5107 or 836-4804 for reservations. There will 3 Iso be a raffle of prizes to be chanced off in early spring.
Bridge Closing
COURT HOUSE - To permit the start of a reconstruction project, the Great Channel Bridge on Stone Harbor Boulevard, between Stone Harbor and Middle Township, will be closed to all traffic commencing tomorrow, it was announced by Freeholder William E. Sturm Jr. The bridge will be reopened to traffic April 20, Sturm said. The project is to be funded with state and federal funds administered by the N.J. Department of

Emergency Help Sought
OCEAN CITY — Those who wish to become involved in the city's emergency management efforts may register on Saturday, announced George Morgan, coordinator. Volunteers.are welcome to visit Emergency Management Headquarters in the former Fire House, 9th and Asbury Avenue 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The Emergency Management team assists the city in time of natural and manmade disasters such as floods, hurricane, fire, etc. All applicants must be 18 years of age or over.
