For residents between First and 53rd Streets, recyclables should be placed at curbside by 8 a.m. Monday. For those living between 54th and 93rd Streets, materials should btf placed by 8 a.m. Tues- , day. Feb. 14. Curbside pickup will be every other 'Monday and Tuesday. Police Busy Or Checking

AVALON — Borough police a re, kept busy checking on homes and businesses with so many summer residences closed and year ‘round residents on vacation, according to Chief Joseph Foley's monthly report. The Chief urges that residents who notice any unusual activity in their neighborhood report such incidents to the police. I n t h e m o n t h o f December thefe were 1,532 residential checks and 1,558 business checks. There were 290 minor incidents handled, six motor vehicle summons and six arrests. There were again no juvenile arrests during the month but there were seven fire calk. \ Seminars On Stress

COURT HOUSE - The County Health Department’s Wellness Program, in co-operation with the Seventh Da> Adventist Church, will present seminars on “Coping With Stress” and "Food, Nutrition and Your Heart” 7-8:30 p m. Saturday, Feb. 11 and 1-4 p.m. Sunday, at the County Health Department. Crest Haven Road and the Garden State Parkway. The “Food. Nutrition and Your Heart” seminar will be conducted by MaryAlic^ White, R.D. MaryAlice White is a clinical dietitian at Hackettstown Community Hospital. She has a wide background in the field of nutrition and has written food and nutrition articles for a national health journal. The seminar will include such topics as current, nutrition problems, sodium and hypertension, guidelines for healthy eating, sugar and fat-in the diet, plus practical leaming experiences in nutrition. tDavid 1 White, M.A.. Di'-ector of Family Life programs at the Hackettstown Community Hospital, •will conduct the ‘ Coping With Stress" seminar. According to WTiite, the purpose of the seminar is two-fold: to understand the dynamics of stress, its causes and its effects upon individuals, and to find healthy ways to handle stress. The sessions will include: “The Inside Story of Stress", "Stress and Good Dynamic Emotional Health", “Relaxation Techniques" and ‘Controlling Stress". The sessions are free and '•pen to the public.
