Well, ‘Hello Dolly ’

ERMA — Lower Cape May Regional High School wiH present 'the musical classic. "Hello Dolly,” next month with Lower Township junior Sue Hart, 17, in the title role. Produced and directed by humanities instructor Paul Mathis, the play revives Michael Stewart’s Broadway hit as adapted from Thornton Wilder’s “The Match Maker.’’ LCMR will stage "Hello Dolly” at 8 p.m. March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 in the high school auditorium off Route 9. Tickets will be $4.50 for adults, $2.50. children. Hart, daughter of Gerrie Hart from North Cape May and Richard Hart of Baltimore, Md.. will recreate the role of Dolly Levi, a New York matchmaker out to snare feed store owner Horace Vandergelder for herself — with a little help from her friends. FINALISTS in the Lower Township PTA Spelling Bee will test their skills at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at Lower Township Consolidated School, Cold Spring. Twenty students from fourth, fifth and sixth grades in Consolidated and Maud Abrams emerged as __ the top spellers in their ' classes during preliminary bees last month. They will each receive certificates next Wednesday and compete then for a $50 U.S. Saving Bond. LATE NOTE: Villas volunteer firemen are sponsoring a pantake breakfast, with pancakes, eggs, sausage and home fries, at the fire hall, Bayshore Road and Georgia Avenue, at 8 a.m. Feb. 26. Coldren, 15 (Bamaby Tucker), son of Fred and Diane Coldren of Cape May; senior Jennifer Bew. 18 (Mrs. Malloy), daughter of Richard and Helena Bew of Cape May Point; and sophomore Lisa- Axelsson, 16 (Minnie Fay), daughter of Bruce and Elizabeth Axelsson of Cape May. Edward T. Jurewicz, chairman of LCMR’s fine arts department, will direct the pit orchestra’s "performance of Jerry Herman’s scofe. Stiva Blomkvest serves as choreographer, with costumes designed by special education teacher Lynn Massamiano and home economics teacher*. Virginia Svard. “Mac” MacConnell is preparing the set while his wife, Donna, a Middle Township teacher, serves as artistic designer.
