Cage Tournament For Youth Shelter

COURT HOUSE — A basketball tournament for the benefit of the Cape May County Youth Shelter will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Wildwood High School gym, and Sunday, March 4, at the Wildwood Catholic High School gym. The games will be played in a double elimination format from 1ft a.m. to approximately 6 p.m. each day. Taking part will be teams representing County Correctional Center workers, county Youth Services workers, Lower Township Consolidated School faculty, Middle Township Police Dept , Wildwood Jaycees members, Wildwood High School faculty. Wildwood Crest Memorial School faculty, and the Wildwood Crest Police Dept. THE TOURNAMENT is sponsored by Cape May County Youth Shelter Auxiliary. Tickets may be obtained from any of the participating teams or at the door, and each ticket will be good for the eight hours of basketball. Volunteers are needed to referee some tournament games. TRENTON— Hunters in Cape May County bagged 321 deer in the 1983-84 season to contribute to a near-record deer harvest of 23,277, second best on record, according to the state Division of Fish, Game, and Wildlife. Different types of hunters shared in the total for Cape May County, with 52 deer taken in the fall bow season, 184 in the six-day firearm season, 62 in the permit shotgun season; 20 fell to muzzleloaders, and three to winter bowmen. Statewide, new records were established, with the Vinter bow harvest of 378, muzzleloader harvest of 1,119, and total antlered bucks in all seasons, 13,625.
