Cape-Atlantic City Transport Studied
MILLVILLE - Prompted by a request by Sen. James R. Hurley (R-Cape May/Cumberland) NJ Transit has agreed to conduct a feasibility study into establishing public bus transportation between Cape May and Cumberland Counties and Atlantic City. „ The Hurley said bus transportation to Atlantic City would help create a' link for residents of Cape May and Cumberland Counties with casinorelated employment opportunities in the resort city. ‘•With the high unemployment rates we

TRENTON - Middle Township has been awarded a $13,552 federal grant to help in its battle against drunk driving, it was announced by Gov. Thomas H. Kean. The township was one of 16 municipal police departments around the state to share in $209,789 in federal funds awarded through the state Division of Motor Vehicles. In (he period 1980-83, of the 4l fatalities in Middle Township, 90 percent were alcohol related, according to Kean. In other municipalities, percentages went as high as 71 percent.

He said those studies are expected to be completed within the new fe^v months. “In April, NJj Transit will begin the study on bus service to Atlantic City serving Cumberland and Cape May Counties,” Hurley continued. “We anticipate that the study will be completed by early summer.”

Squad Eyes Auxiliary MO GRANDE-The Rio Grande Rescue Squad had 691 runs for 1983, With a total of 2,339 hodrs, 13,222 miles, 502 emergency calls, 63 transports, and 126 miscellaneous. Members are looking for women-a/id men interested in helping the Squad form an auxiliary.
