Dining Guide
FEBRUARY is mi its way out — still a week tho before this month is over and done with. A lot of folks say they’re always glad to see February march off into time. Spring, by the calendar, is only a few days away now, and our first returning robins should get in from the south before next week is gone. Wide-awake observers mayhave seen some of these already. Birds are smart, and they seem to know where they are safe. This great army of robins is on its way north right now, flying from Bermuda and from Florida and other gulf states where they have spent the winter. They come north rather liesurely, flying perhaps a hundred miles each day. or rather each night, for most migrating birds fly at night. While the birds are feeling the return of spring, and starting for their nesting grounds, the plants are getting ready, too. Snowdrops and crocuses and hyacinths are pushing up their pointed leaves in our flower beds and borders, and soon the leaves of tulips and daffodils will be showing. Watch for the earliest tree blooms as springtime takes hpld. And now a word for sky watchers. Watch the points and times of sunrise and sunset this week daily. Watch that noon shadow also. Yes, spring is surely on its way. Take heart. I»’s a great time to step out for a great meal. Here are some suggestions : BELLEVUE TAVERN — famous sandwiches. The choicest thick, old-fashioned sandwiches are tempters at the Bellevue Tavern in Cape May Court House. We like to stop at this familiar site for the best sandwich selection anywhere Select from the finest meats, cheeses and cold cuts available, served on ^hick slices of your favorite breads ordered with your.favorite toppings. Add to this winning combination, your favorite beverages and you've got a satisfying meal. Lunch is 11 to 3. Evening hours 6 to 11. Call 465-7487.
□’CONTINENTAL — the place to go. Shall we have : Chinese tonight or shall we dine American-style? The great attraction at D'Continental Lounge & Restaurant, at Walnut & New Jersey Avenues, North Wildwood is that you can have either Chinese or American food at this one-of-a-kind spot. D’Continental also*, provides entertainment Friday.
