Marine

Station

Reopens

WEST TRENTON-Col-onel Clinton L. Pagano, state police superintendent, has announced the resumption of full patrol operations at the Marine Police North Wildwood Station, Central Avenue, North Wildwood, effective last Saturday. The complement of eight marine police officers will be responsible for patrol coverage of the waters from Cape May to Ocean City. Pagano said the North Wildwood Station has been dtilized as a repair and service depot since April 1983. Due to budgetary restraints at that time, patrol operations were shifted to neighboring State Police Marine Law Enforcement Bureau stations at Point Pleasant in Ocean County and Atlantic City in Atlantic County. Any request for marine emergency assistance in the Cape May — Ocean City area should be directed to the Marine Police North Wildwood Station. The telephone numbers are: 522-0393, 522-0640, and 522-0343.

OPENHOUSE WILDWOOD - Open house for students in grades 6, 7 and 8, and their parents, will be held at Wildwood Catholic High School at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Drivers*

Pictures Delayed MILLVILLE - It will be a while before drivers in Cape May County will be looking at the birdie to have their pictures taken for their licenses. That’s the word from Sen. James R. Hurley, (R Cape May-Cumberland), who says that drivers in the county will be excluded from the state Division of Motor Vehicles' photo license program until agencies in the county are computerized. POINTING' OUT that county residents had been concerned that they would be required to travel to a computerized motor vehicle agency in another country, Hurley said. “This move by the state Division of Motor Vehicles will prevent Cape May County residents from being inconvenienced”. Hurley explained that the photo license program is geared to be phased in over a four-year period, with completion set for March, 1988, or shortly thereafter. Some 25 percent of the 5.1 million licensed drivers in the state will be selected each year.
