B) Hughes WASHINGTON, D C. - Congressman Bill Hughes (D-NJ) has announced the schedule for district office • hour: which will we be held in Cape May County through tomorrow March 1 As part of his continuing effort to stay in close touch with the needs and views of the residents of South Jersey. Hughes hps scheduled the office hours at several locations to provide maximum access for residents. In a departure from past practices. Hughes said the district office sessions are now being scheduled indoors at local public buildings, rather than the former mobile congressional office van. By scheduling the district office hours in this fashion. Hughes said, it will enable him to provide better service to his constituency. The district office operations will be conducted bystaff assistants John Mruz and Likie Nika. The schedule for. tomorrow- is: 10-11:30 a m.. Borough Hall. Woodbine; 12-1:30 p m.. Upper Township Hall. Tuckahoe 2:30-4 p.m.. Fire Hall, Marmora. SPCA Cites l f >43 Strays COLD SPRING - In the pa-:t year, reports Dennis Ke'.ly, director of the Cape May County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, it had 1,043 animals picked up or turned in as strays. Of these. Kelly says, 768 were euthanized at a cost to taxpayers of $24,000. All local municipalities, he points out. have ordinances against animals running at large. To protect S.P.C.A. operatives and animals in the pound. Kelly warned, summonses will be issued to owners failing to obtain rabies shots and licenses fo- their dogs.
