A t A L O’N - The Avaion/Stone Harbor Soccer program joins the Cape May County Soccer Association as it begins its 8th xear with its program for boys and’girls between the 7 and 16-1/2. Adult volunteers are needed to help as coaches in the socc.er program in the Ava on/Stone Harbor area. in men’s recreatioiial volleyball. Breakwater continued to roll in its auest foi- the championship as it swept all three games in its match with Eckel’s, 15-3.

the other match-up of the semi-finals. Game one set the tone for the evening as the teams battled back and forth in the early going until Keen’s moved ahead tq a 12-10 lead. Dekelco resoonded with some excellent spikes by Ken Gaskill and went on to win . 15-12. DEKELCO JUMPED off to a comfortable 9-2 lead in game’ two. Keen's then roared back to tie the game at 10-10 and then again at 12-12 behind the dependable serving of Mike McLaughlin. Dekelco held Keen s at 12 points and went on to win 15-12. Iri game three Dekelco again took the lead early as it vaulted ahead 13-8 behind some excellent all around play, highlighted by an incredible save by k Hawley. Keen's then regained service and pulled itself together behind some perfect spikes and sets by Burl Keen and Don Schifferdecker as they shut Dekelco down and went on to win 15-13. ^ KeeTi’s carried its momentum from game three into game four as it destroyed Dekelco 15-3. In the deciding game Dekelco took the early 8-5. lead over Keen's. At that point Dekelco’s offense sputtered and it could manage only two more points for the remainder of the game as Keen's took U}£ lead and went ort to win the game 15-10 and the match 3 games to 2.

firehouse.

needed.

Tryouts for the Major Division, 9 to 12 year olds, will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 17. The Senior League tryouts, for 13 to 15-year-olds, will be 11-3 o.m. Sunday, March 18. All tryouts will be held at the Goshen Complex on Goshen Road. In case of inclement veather the tryouts will be duled for the followg weekend.

ERMA — Charles Taylor was selected as The Lower Township Chamber of Commerce student of the month at the South, Jersey Christian Academy. A plaque and savings boqd were presented by Robert Conroy, Lower Chamber board member, at a special assembly at the academy. Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shep Taylor of Seashore Road, Cold Spring. He has been a student at -the academy for five years Charles has shown great leadership in our school. He is captain of the Safety Patrol and of the soccer team. He has also been involved in the school activity program, which includes volleyball, basketball, softball and bowling. CAPE MAY - Dellas Stores held off an upset minded Keltie News team to hold on to a 3-2 win to keep its perfect record iih tact in Junion Division action this past week. Dellas was again led in scoring by Jim Kelly, who scored a goal in the first period, along with Tim Dougherty, to give his team a 2-1 lead. Kelly got the game winner in the second period as he fired in his second goal at the 5:45 mark. Matt Deems and Matt Notch scored a goal apiece for Kellie’s in a losing cause. The Cape May Volunteer Fire Co. and C-View ended up deadlocked at 0-0 after three periods and a five minute overtime period in a game that was highlighted by stiff defense and spectacular goal tending. Cape May County. He has also been a prize winner and participant at the 4-H Fair for a number of summers. He is an active participant in the Youth Group of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. The past summer he worked to earn part of his tuition to attend South Jersey Christian Academy.
