S&L Pays Record Interest
SEA ISLE CITY - The First Savings and Loan Association has reported $4 million growth during 1963, with assets now of $23,627,779.71. These growth figures were reported at the annual fe^ organization meeting of /nie First Savings and Loan Association. A -record $1,901,484.60 was paioio interest to depositors during the year. Harold J. Abrams was re-elected as chairman of the board oMirectors of the association, and was honored for his 25 years of service. In addition, Joel R. Robinson was honored for 36 years of service on the board and Frank Myhre for 25 years. The three men each received a plague. IN ADDITION to Abrams’ election as chairman of the board, the following officers were elected for 1964: Linda L. Brown president and treasurer; Kenneth L. Whitlock, vice president and secretary; Lynne Yanucci, assistant secretary-treasurer. Elected to the board of directors were Harold Abrams, chairman; Gamaliel Broadley, vicechairman, and members Albert W. Kohler, Carl J. Lovejoy, Elmer B. Reed, John Dogliotti, Frank Myhre, Joel L. Robinson and G.B. Libro. The First Savings and Loan Association of Sea Isle City is known for paying some of the highest interest rates in the area, a factor that, according to Abrams, resulted in one of the most successful years in the association’s history. The association has its offices at 137 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

AVALON — The annual Kiddie Carnival, a special day to delight and amuse area children, is planned for Saturday at the Avalon Community Hall. The event, sponsored by the Stone Harbor Lions Club in c onjunction with the Sea Lions Ladies Auxiliary, is to be held rain or shine 10 a.m.-3 p.m. All age groups are welcome to try their luck at the carnival games, win prizes and eat their fill of popcorn,. cotton candy, brownies, pizza, hoagies and ice cream. Admission is free and game tickets will oe on sale. All proceeds will benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for blind children. Also, raffle tickets will be sold on three super prizes. Shelter Haven Realty has donated a Cabbage Patch doll and Leahy Realty added a cuddly teddy bear and a boys bicycle complete with training wheels. Parents are welcome to take advantage of the Kiddie Carnival’s supervision provided by the Sealions.
