* Sojne recipes to help make St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday a special day. Corned Beef’N Cabbage in a Pot 3 lbs. corned beef brisket 3iz lbs. whole peeled potatoes 2 large onions, studded with cloves 5 medium carrots, in thirds. 1 head cabbage cut in eighths 1 cup dry red wine 4 cups water. 2 teaspoons chopped parsley. In a large pot or Dutch ovfn. boil water and drop brisket in with potatoes, carrots, onions and parsley. If desired, add salt and pepper Reduce temperature; add wine and simmer 1*2-2 hours until meat and vegetables are almost tender. Add cabbage, stirring gently, and cook another 20 minutes or so. When Serving, carve corned beef with the grain and sen e with hot biscuits and cold beer! Senes 6-8.
