Goshen Methodist Marks 145th Year

GOSHEN - The Goshen United Methodist Church will mark its 145th anniversary at the church 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Methodism began in the Goshen Area with the first meeting in a sdjoolhouse on the Cape May Court House Road, somewhere about 1826 In 1840 a piece of ground was purchased from the Richard Thompson family for $29.37; the cost of the completed church, dedicated in 1840, was $200. The church was enlarged and modernized. in 1880 with the addition of a tower and a bell, by thp William Garrison family. The present structure was erected in 1909. and an educational building, was added in 1958. This addition
