you should note-that not all spots and stains can be removed by using the same procedure. Incorrect removal procedures can possibly set the spot or stain permanently. THERE ARE TWO BASIC TYPES OF cleaning materials which should be readilj^available at all time*. These include (1) any special purpose carpet cleaning detergents which are found on grocery store shelves or a solution which is simply prepared by mixing one teaspoon of neutral detergent and one teaspoon of white vinegar per quart of warn water and (2) any non-flammable dry cleaning fluid. Never use soap, ammonia or washing soda Remem be- spots and stains need immediate* attention. Blot spills using a clean white absorbent material until the material no longer absorbs the .stain. After all possible stain has been removed, it is then time to clean the stain. This is important becasue some spots appear to be dean but when they actually dry a resulting stain can easily be found in the carpet. SEVERAL WORDS OF CAUTION should be mentioned prior to attempting spot and stain removal Always pretest spot remover formulas on a small area of the carpet which is in an inconspicious location. Apply the spot remover and then hold a white tissue • (Page 9 Please)
