By Area Artists

CAPE MAY - Several free art exhibits sponsored by the Cape May County Art League are being staged through March at various locations in the county. At the Carriage House Gallery, 1050 Washington St., two shows are being held: Young People’s Art, works by area high school students in varied media, and drawn and painted work$ by Harriet Steadier, a student in the league’s arts-for-the-handicapped program. The gallery is open 10-4 Friday, Saturday and Monday, 12-4 Sunday. At the restaurant gallery in Sullivan’s Department Store, 2170 Dune Dr., Avalon, are miniature landscapes and floral paintings by Mary Fedenci of Wildwood. FLORALS AND abstract paintings by Maryann Cannon, who teaches in Bargaintown, and Shirley Firak of Ocean City are on display in the lobby of the Union Trust Co., 3600 Pacific Ave., Wildwood during regular business hours. Hand-dyed textile wall hangings and realist paintings by Federid are on display at the Marine Bank, 3301 Pacific Ave., Wildwood. Works by young artists from the county’s schools are displayed at the Wildwood Crest Public Library, 6301 Ocean Ave. A representative portion of the league's Elementary School Art Show can be seen 10-6 Monday through Friday, and 1-5 Saturday and Sunday. Monte Carlo Night Set NORTH WILDWOOD - Knights of Columbus Council 2572 will hold a Monte Carlo night at the Council Home, Walnut and New York Avenue, 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission, payable at the door, ^includes $500 in play moliey, food and beverage, and an exciting evening. Prizes will be awarded.
