Nail-Biter Finale
CAPE MAY - The Lighting Dimensions Killerwatts pulled out a spectacular come from behind 15-12 victory over the Potter in the final game of the Men’s Power Volleyball championships. It was a game that could have gone either way, that will be long remembered by all those involved. With the match tied at two games all, the best of five series was suddenly transformed into a one game winner-take-all showdown. The Potter stuck first blood as it jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead over the Killerwatts due largely to the hitting of Jim McKinley and Bob Jackson. Realizing it was only six points from defeat. Stuart Cohen, the man the Potter has gone to all year when it needed “the big play”, responded in style with three successive kills and a defensive block to knot the score at 12-12. That would be all, however, as the Killerwatts’ Roy Hartle served out for the game, match and championship. Games ont and three belonged to the Potter. In the opener it blocked everything in sight. “It felf like we were trying to hit through a bride wall”, commented Lighting Dimension’s Ted Fen-ante. “There’s not a weak blocker on their team. We knew that in order to beat them we had to catch them off guard by setting our middle hitter more than usual.” The Potter held the Killerwatts to a total of
