Diabetes Seminar At ACC

MAYS LANDING - The F^tient Education Comrt'ttee of the New Jersey /Yfiliate, American Diabetes Association.‘will present “Tools for Self Management’', a seminar for diabetics, their families, friends and professionals. 8:30 a.tai. — 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Atlantic County Community College here. Robert A. Fuhrman, M.D., President of the American Diabetes .Association, New Jersey Affiliate, Inc. will act as moderator for the pro^ra m. The featured speaker will be Avedis Khachadurian. MD., processor of medicine and chief. Division of Endocrine and Metabolic .Diseases. UMDNJ — Rutgers Medical / School. His lecture entitled “Hope 'for Tomorrow — Research Update", will include a discussion of the new insulins, pancreas transplants, beta cell transplants and the latest treatments for the complications of diabetes. Self management of diabetes through medica- ► tion, nutrition, exercise, stress management and blood glucose monitoring will be addressed by other speakers. ERMA — The students of Richard Teitelman School will present their Annual Variety .Show at 7:30 p.m. Friday. This year’s show will include singers, dancers, musicians, Karate demonstrators, gymnasts,

and many more talented teenagers. Hie show will be presented in the school cafetorium and will be free to the public. This annual production is under the leadership of Nancy Didriksen and Mrs. Melinda Mensinger.
