They’re simply beautiful — the handmade crocheted dolls with different color hair, dresses with hats to match, booties, and so huggable. Betty diGugliemo of North Cape May is the ‘'doll artist”. She’s charitable, too, offering two of her best-dressed dollies to raffle off in Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish Hall. Needless to say,Betty is almost worn to a breaking point trying to keep up with orders for children and the “near children" too. Betty can be seen at the Star of the Sea Bingo game on Sunday evening tired but not too tired for Bingo. Sunshine Club of Cape May, beaded by Betty and BUI Walker, do nice things; i.e., hosting, a Valentine Birthday party at Crest Haven for all the shut-ins. The Sunshine Club and Kiwanis Club of Cape May sponsor the event but Betty and Bill make sure all receive a gift, a beautiful
Thanks Go To School For Blood
COURT HOUSE - The Red Cross has recognized the students and faculty of Ocean City High School for outstanding- participation in the March, blood program. Ocean City High School held its fall Mood drive, which had a designated goal of 100 pints, March 15. Through the guidance of the faculty chairperson, AJ Matthews, and the efforts of the recruitment committee, 117 people were present to donate, which resulted in 100 units of blood. The student recruitment committee was composed of the members of the student council, 1 leaded by Lauren Bruce, president, and Maria Amendt, vicepresident. The Red Cross believes that the current low inventory is related to the fear of contracting AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency. Syndrome) by donating blood. The fact is that it is impossible to contract AIDS by donating, since all the euqipment used is .sterilized, used on one patient only, and then discarded.

thought no matter how you look at it. • * • CONGRATULATIONS, all good wishes, and then some, to Margaret*, and Lawrence Inderwies of Victorian Towers, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary April 15. There’ll be a Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church that day starting 3 p.m. followed by a reception at the Golden Eagle afterward, where family and friends will enjoy the day together. Son is Jerry Inderwies. City of Cape May Base Manager. All good wishes to them for many, many more years of happiness. Happy Birthday to Mary Crawford. Mary Cicchitti of Victorian Towers, Nettie Duncan, my darling brother, Bob. and son-in-law, Michael Maziarczyk Jr. And to give equal time. Happy ^Birthday, “Adrian”, wire-haired terrier belonging to Betty and Albert diGugliemo. Get well wishes to Marie Rohrenbeck of Page Street in Cape May. She’s the "cat lady" with three' Persian felines: Silver (all silver), Fluffy (all black), and Patches (just that ... all patches of red and brown).
Fluffy just celebrated her 17th birthday. Silver his 16th. • • • Get well wishes also to Donna Buehner. daughter of Cynthia Buck, Cape May City Hall administrative secretary. Hurray for Cecile Jarvis of Cape May Point. She’s right back after a serious siege of illness. Cecile, whose French accent is so noticeable, is so happy to be back home with friends and family, n est pas? THINGS TO COMEl Flea Market sponsored by the Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady Star of the Sea ladies. Watch here for exact date and all particulars. If you haven’t seen it yet, the Thrift Shop at Star of the Sea in Cape May is ultra; — sort of a mixture of Sak’s Fifth Avenue and Second-Time Around specials. Lots of new items, some “finds” and always something for everyone. • • • She’s ••Su-Mai”, delightful ittle Chinese waitress at the Dragon Lady Restaurant in Cape May (next to the Acme). She even writes you a
special greeting all in Chinese right on back of your check. So little one wonders how sh£ carries all those large trays, although I’m told that in China all waitresses carry foods right on the arms, extended way up. They surely know the art of balancing. “Su-Mai” looks at you, smiles, and then the eyes sparkle too.
