, CAPE MAY - The CView and the Cape May Volunteer Fire Company met to determine the 1984 Senior Street Hockey Champion and after two • games nothing was decided as each notched a victory’. The first game was a defensive battle with nary a goal being scored through the first two periods. CView’s Mike Cronin finally broke the ice as he scored what proved to be the game winner at the 4:25 mark of the third period; In the second game the Fire Company's Joe Hawthorne caught fire in the first period as he scored two goals to give his team a quick 2-0 lead. C-View s Cronin closed the game to 2-1 as he scored at the 7:15 mark of the second period. Charlie Hickman upped the Tire Company’s lead to 2 again as be scored two minutes later. Fire Company's Hawthorne completed the . hat trick in the third period^ as the Firemen took a commanding 4-1 lead. C-View's Todd Shoffler scored 50 seconds later but it was too little too late as the Firemen won 4-2 to even the series at toe game apiece.
