homes. Named in honor-of Dutch explorer Cornelius Mey. ,fhe town's namesake, the festival will include special events in the Rotary Park, the selection of a “Tulip-Queen" end a coloring contest for all ages.
WHO WILL BE THE 1984 TULIP
Girls from tKe ages of-eight to 12 are invited to sub mit applications-to become Cape May's Tulip Queen and to ragn'over the third annual Tulip Festival April 28 and 29 Residents of the greater Cape May area south of the canal are eligible for the contest. Applications should include an essay of a minimum of 50 words on , \Vhy 1 Want to be Tulip Queen" and a black-and-white picture ©f a^ieast 3x5 ihches. which will be returned after the contest. / The entrant s name, address, and telephone number should be on the back'W both the essay and the photograph Deadline for submission of entries' to the contest is Friday. April 20. 'The Tulip Festival Committee of the Chamber of ' Commerce will judge the entries and notify the new Queen just before the Tuliji Festival.
