Parade Will Open Season I

WILDWOOD - The Easter Parade set to the beat of the Wildwood String Band will open the 1984 season on the Wildwood Boardwalk. 1 The parade will begin at about 12:30 p.m. at 26th

Street and proceed to Convention Hall, where the String Band will give a special performance. The setting for the promenade will be the World Famous Boardwalk and all are urged to come and parade or watch.

Mayor Earl Ostrander will 'give a special welcome and assist with the awarding of prizes for the best dressed. Women from the Wildwood Civic Club and the Wildwood Chapter of Deborah Hospital will judge the fashions in the Easter Parade. AWARDS WILL be given to the best dressed Senior Citizen, Male and Female, Family, Couple, and individual adults, as well as several categories for teenagers and youngsters. Judging will take place 1-2 p.m. An arts and crafts show ( that has become an annual feature is under the chairmanship of Mrs. Chris Higgs. The show will be 11 a.m. -5 p.m. featuring all crafts including wood, stained glass, ceramics, candy making, silk flowers, quilts and needle crafts to look at and buy. Ribbons will be awarded in each category, as well as best of the show The program is being conducted by The Wild woods Public Relations Department as the kickoff to the 1984 season. Polish Fete On April 28 ATLANTIC CITY - The 9th Annual "Swienconka" and dance sponsored by the Polish — American Association of South Jersey will take place 8 p.'nr. Saturday. April 28. at Memorial Hall of Our Lady"Star of the Sea Church. The main attraction will be the awarding of scholarship certificates worth $500 each, to two high school seniors of Polish heritage A "Swiencone", blessing of food, will take place at 8 p.m. prior to a buffet dinner, with food and pastries of Polish flavor Dydak Diamonds of Philadelphia will provide the polka, waltz and oberek music.
