BIG WEEK AHEAD. The holiday season is upon us, a long awaited time. Easter symbolizes renewal in our lives. It’s the time for the Easter bunny, Easter baskets and family get-togethers. We hope for you and yours the coming holiday is a beautiful, memorable time. Happy Easter. This is the time for coloring eggs. To quote from a poem by Eleanor Ffocfe: "Night be/ore Easter, There's much work to do. When all eggs are hidden The bunnies skiddoo." As Easter and springtime mingle, our thoughts turn to the miracle unfolding everywhere, the miracle we see in our gardens, the bird songs we are'hearing again, and the warming sunlight. Danger of killing frost is past now (aren’t you glad?) and we can start shedding our heavy coats. Maybe we can’t shed our raincoats (you know what ip said about April showers), but April showers will bring the flowers we’ll be seeing in May. This joyful week is a perfect time to be stepping out. Here are some places we’ll be going to: AVALON SEAFOOD MARKET — sea treats. There’s nothing like fresh seafood in the springtime, freshly caught and freshly prepared to your order. Our recommended choice is the Avalon Seafood Market, at 29th & Ocean Drive, Avalon which features delicious take-out meals throughout the spring and summer months. The menu includes an abundance of seafood choices, chowder, appetizers and platters to go. Our favorite is combination broiled platter, that includes generous portions of filet of flounder, shrimp, scallops and lobster tail (steamed in seasoned butter — yummy). Included are fried potatoes, cole slaw and a lemon slice. The fried seafood platter offers a similar choice. Call for dinner — 967-7555. TORTILLA FLATS — Mexican specialties. Now Avalon has its very own Mexican restaurant, Tortilla Flats, at 2540 Dune Drive, serving all the flavors from south of the border. Enjoy delicious appetizers such as Nachos, Guacamole Dip, Empanaditas and even Mexican pizza. Platters include Chimichanga (a deep fried beef or chicken Burrito covered with a special sauce), Aztec Pie (corn tittillas (Page 35 Please)
