Acid Rain Controls Sought WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Bill Hughes (D-NJ) has joined yi cosponsoring legislation which would implement a national program to control acid rain, one of the most important environmental concerns of the century. 7 Hughes warned that significant and long-lasting damage to natural resources could occur unless steps are undertaken to control the pro-; blem. "Pollutants have already been introduced into our drinking water supply in .South Jersey because acid rain has broken down lead despoits beneath the Pine Barrens," he explained. GOSHEN — Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Baker, the former Louise Hearon, celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary April 20. An open house was held at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Harold Livingston, in Ocean View Easter Sunday afternoon / for family and friends.

The Baker? have a son, John, of Green Creek, and another daughter, Mrs. James Cowan, of Punta Gorda, Fla. They were married at the Methodist Parsonage by Rev. Howard Brown. They reside with Mrs. Baker's brother, John T. V Hearon Sr.
