The two miscues put a runner at third in Jlhe second inning and then the winning run came home on an infield groundball as Buena escaped 2 to 1. Senior Bill Osborn closed the margin to ono run with a solo homer .in the top of the seventh inning, but the Warriors Wouldn't .bring around the tying run. Bridgeton could and did bring around the winning run in the last inning as it handed Ocean City its first loss of the season. 6-4. Going into the last frame. O.C. held a 4-2 lead, but saw the hard-hitting Bulldogs come up with four markers to take'the victory from the 4 and 1 Raiders. IN OTHER ACTION. Ron Sansom fired a onehitter at Lower Cape May enroute to a 6 to 1 Absegami w in. Four errors didn't help the Caper cause in the balltgame that was shortened to five innings by rain. • * It was^o-hitter No. 2 for St. Joseph girls softhall pitcher Joanna Sulmonetti as the WHdcat star held Middle Township hitless in a 11 to 1 victory. Lower's record evened up at 2 and 2 after the setback. LISA CROMPTON is well known for her heroics on the basketball court. Well, last week she turned the same trick on the softball field. Crompton smashed a solo home run in the seventh inning as Ocean City topped Bridgeton 4-3. Crompton put the Raiders up briefly in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly that scored Audrey Kemenosh from third. Ocean City held an impressive 4-1 record after the road victory. IN TRACK. Lower Cape May's Paul Lundholm finished his round at 41 to lead the Capers to a 185-192 victory over Absegami Coming in at 48 were Ron Lundholm. Ed Monaghan and Ken Stankiewicz. REMARKS: Here are some questions that don't necessarily need answers. Was the final round of The Masters by Ben Crenshaw the most exciting ever without competition? Where was Jack N'icklaus anyway? 'The high-flying V i
Baltimore Orioles aren't off the ground yet, will they turn things around before its too late? Is it true that the Phillies Pirates game of last Thurs day was called off because a small crowd was expected? Will the firing of cheerleaders hurt' the U-S-F-L? Will the comments from La. quarterback Steve Young? Reports say former Philadelphia coach Pat Quinn is headed for Los Angeles. Will Bob McCammon be looking for a coaching job soon? Is the magic gone from the Philadelphia 76ers'.' Will next season bfc,the last for Julius Erving? Will Darryl Stawberry be the next Ted Williams0 Little League Start Slated CAPE MAY - The Greater Cape May Little League will open its 1984 season Saturday, April 28. with a triple header (first game at noon.
