Elections Tuesday In 5 Communities
Voters in five of the county's 16 municipalities go to the polls next Tuesday to pick local officials in ' non-partisan elections. Polling places are indicated on sample ballots sent to all registered voters: polls will be open > from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m « Mayor Arthur Blomkvest with fellow incumbent
Councilmen Adrian S. Capehart and Harry A. Gilbert are standing unchallenged for reelection to the three-member Cape May City Council but races have been underway in Cape Mas' Point. Lower Township. Ocen City and West Wildwood All three borough commission seats are up for
grabs in West Wildwood where' incumbent Mayor Herbert Frederick, a GOP freeholder candidate, and Commissioner William Chatburn are not standing for reelection. Their colleague. Commissioner William E. Braker. is running in a field of fis*e. The challengers are: Ronald J. Stagliano,
Carl O'Hara. Patrick J. Hans berry and Harry J. Cuslck. Stagliano, Hansbarrj^ and Cusick have been endorsed by the borough Republican organization. IN CAPE MAY POINT. Walter Sacks, president of the local taxpayers' association, is trying to unseat one incumbents standing for reelection to
the three commission seats: Mayor Frank S. Rutherford Jr.. Commissioner Edward Jarvis or j Commissioner Charles D. Reeves, a GOP candidate for freeholder. Seventeen candidates are running for five seats on the new Lower Township council that replaces the present township committee July 1 . Three rival slates have fielded hopefuls for the mayor, at-iarge council and three ward council seats; two loners are also running in the First Ward. Ocean City's four ward council seats are subject to election tKis year and incumbents in three of them are being challenged for relection. First Ward Councilman William H. Wood faces GOP committeeman and local businessman Mark A. Videtto. Incumbent WHliam J .Meis is defending his seat against two challengers, motel owner and retired pwlice lieutenant John Vaiiderpool and garage owner Herbert D. Smity , Councilman John J.
