HOLIDAY WEEKEND coming up. ■ While the last weekend in May means the I start of summer to many people, the real I meaning of Memorial Day is its dedicaI tion to all who died in war for the United I States. Less we forget. ♦ * ♦ I While May's legendary qualities unfold ■ before our eyes, it's easy to slip into spr- ■ ing fever. Spring fever is always a good ■ excuse for not doing the things we're sup- ■ posed to be doing. When the wife asks / ■ how come you didn't get around to pain- ' ■ ting the back porch, you can always say, ■ "Spring fever, honey. I was day dream- ■ ing about you." Maybe she'll even believe ■ you. ♦ * * Speaking of porches, this is a great ■ time of year to get yourself out on one to ■ observe the shore folks coming to life. As I long as people can sit on a porch and ■ think or gossip, there's a lot to be said for ■ just sitting and doing next to nothing, ex- ■ cept discussing the time of day or ■ whatever comes to mind. ♦ * * When it comes to going out and enjoyI ing the good life, these fine local places ■ are highly recommended by our dining H scout: ED ZABERER'S gets a Silver Spoon. I For years guests at Ed Zaberer's world I famous Wildwood restaurant has been I serving spectacular food that is proI claimed as the best available. Zaberer's has just been presented a I coveted Silver Spoon Award by the ■ Gourmet Diner Club of America, a ■ prestigious organization that nominates I the country's most outstanding ■ restaurants for this outstanding award. I This goes without saying that a visit to I Zaberer's is an assured dining exI perience that offers only the finest fodd ■ and beverages. The atmosphere is out of I this world. * * * UNCLE BILL'S — open again. Here's I good news for vacationers and natives I alike — Uncle Bill's Pancake House and I Family Restaurants are back on the dinHing scene in Cape May, Avalon, Stone B'Harbor and Strathmere ■ Serving breakfast and lunch, this I popular local chain has all the fixings for.
getting a day started in just the right way. Of course, everybody knows Uncle Bill's pancakes are so delicious they are the #1 favorite of the Cape. You will never taste any as good anywhere. Come hungry. ; * * * I i i i
