Show | hours on Saturday will be 9 I a.m. -9 p.m. and Sunday 9 1 a.m. -5 p.m. For additional i information contact the I Mid-Atlantic Center for the < Arts. 884-5404. 1 Memorial Day a < commemorative service < will be held in Convention Hall beginning at 11:15 1 » a.m.. with city officials, • local members of the clergy and representatives of veterans' organizations presiding. The day's activities begin at : 8:30 a.m. with a three kilometer fun run followed > by the main event, the grueling and competitive 10k run. i)ver 500 runners are expected to participate in one or both races. Immediately flowing the 10k race will bf an awards ceremony ahd post-race reception at tie Rotary Bandstand fThe 16th Annual Senior Citizens Arts and Crafts Festival June 8 and 9 in Convention Hall is sold out again. June 17 S Two hundred-plus iriathletes are expected to attempt to survive a one :Vnile ocean swim, a 50-mile lb i c y c I e race and a ••.culminating 20 kilometer frurrr all in one day. This event is expected to jlast from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hand begins at 8 a m at i Beach Patrol Headi* quarters with the swimm|jing race. Computerized trace results and other injl formation will be available iall day long at Convention Hall. A variety of trophies land awards will be | presented at the hall after | the last runner has trudged 8 home in the final fcvent. The weekend of June 23 and 24 will be a busy one in the Greater Cape May area with two well established spectator events. Over 200 speedy and colorful Hobie Cat sailing boats will compete both days in the 4th Annual Cape jjj May Classic Hobie Cat K Regatta. Hobies of all three classes. 14 foot, 16 foot and • 18 foot and of various skill levels will be launching * from Cannone Beach and racing off the beach in that tj general area. ANTIQUE Ql'ILTS and contemporary Amish and Mennonite quilts will be featured by several dealers at the quilt and decoy show Offering quilts for sale is a new feature of the show this year, and several wellknown dealers of quality quilts have been invited to sell, their handmade quilts.
Most quilts will be contemporary quilts made by the Amish and Mennonites of Pennsylvania featuring hand quilting and traditional patterns* such as " Dresden Plate", "Double Wedding Ring" . and " Grandmother's Flower Garden". In addition to full-sized quilts, there will also be crib quilts and quilted pillows for sale.
Exhibit Set WILDWOOD - The Fine and Practical Arts Department of Wildwood High School will present its annual student exhibition of fashion and art 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29; in the school auditorium. This year's show, organized by Connie Jost and Marianne Daughen, will include art work, face art, and modeling of student-made garments.
