Volunteer Awards Given by Hospital

COURT HOUSE - At a recent Awards Tea honoring Burdette Tomlin Memorial volunteers, it was noted that over 300 in-, dividuals have contributed close to 50,000 hours of service to the hospital during the past year William-H Waldron III. administrator, remarked. • Volunteers are special people. You enhance our hospital with your smiles as well as your efforts. You support our staff as well as our patients with your caring ways." "We thank you from our heart," said Terry TKarter, R.N., assistant administrator - nursing. Ceremonies were held at the hospital and attended by over 100 persons. CANDY STRIPERS with 100 hours or more of service received caps from their instructor, Marie Macatee, R.N.. while those with longer service were - given pins. Candy stripers receiving awards were: 100 hours — Carrie Conti, Sea Isle City; Lisa Gandy, Clermont: Brenda Heathcote, Cape May; Peggy Kelly. Swainton; Karen McCall, Wildwood Crest; Bernadette Montgomery. Cape May; Michelle Saiasin. Wildwood Crest; Michelle Sweker, Shady Lane; and Abigail Wiliams. Swainton. One hundred fifty hours — Jennifer Canningham. Wildwood; Stephanie DeTample, North Wildwood; Karen McCall. Wildwood Crest. Michelle Swecker, Shady Lane; Laura Tease, Swainton; and Abigail Williams. Swainton. 800 hours — Lisa Richards, Court House. Mary Greiner, president of the BTMH Auxiliary, | and Bettie Crilly, director of volunteer services at the hospital, presented awards to the members of the senior volunteer corps who have achieved traditional landrpdTks of service RECOGNIZED for 10,000 hours Of service was Johanna Mahan, Cape May Court House Mrs Mahan has been helping the hospital for 20 years. She assists in the Emergency Department where she is recognized as a valuable member of their team. Ruth Toft, retiring as chairperson of the Et Cetera Thrift Shop after 23: 1 years of service, was honored for 9,000 hours of volunteer work. Mrs. Toft's contributions were also noted in a BTMH Board of Governors resolution read at the Tea.
