CAPE MAY — In accor- I • dance with the voluntary 1 recycling ordinance I adopted by City Council I May 21, the city has been I divided into three recycling zones and schedules set up for collecting recyclables. Ftecyclables include paper, such as newspaper, magazines, corrugated boxes, brown grocery bags and writing, paper; glass containers, ' which should be placed in a marked, reusable plastic or metal container; aluminium, including beverage cans, pie plates, aluminium foil, food trays, aluminium siding, window frames and other jclean household aluminium. THE SUMMEk schedule for pickups follows : Wednesday, Route 1; June 6, June 20, July 18, i Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Aug. 29, I and Sept. 12. ■ Thureday, Houte 2: June 7. June 21, July 5, July 19. Aug. 2, Aug. 16, Aug. 30, and Sept. 13. Friday, Route 3: June 8, June 22. July 6, July 20, Aug. 3, Aug. 17, Aug. 31, and Sept 14. * Route 1, Wednesdays, will not start until afternoon. Collection on the other routes will begin shortly before 6 a.m. There will be no collection during inclement weather.
Beach Fund Push Vowed WASHINGTON, D C. - Congressman Bill Hughes (D-2nd District) has vowed to continuehis fight for funding construction of the long-awaited beach erosion control project in Cape May City. The project is needed to restore the be^hes in Cape May City, which were severely damaged as the result of the federal government's construction of the nearby Cold Spring jetties The project is also needed to protect the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center from further erosion damage. Hughes made his promise after the House Appropriations committee approved $5 million for construction of a new jetty in Barnegat Inlet and more than $2 million for other New Jersey projects.
