I By L1BBY DEMP F0RRE9T JUNE will be bustin' out all over come ■ this Friday. Half the year is nearly over : I in just thirty days. Seems like just yester- : I day we were still having touble dating our I I checks with the new year. Just shows you I can get used to almost anything. ;j. ♦ * * \ Along with June comes flowers. And : I along with flowers come weddings and I graduations. For the youngsters the best , I part of June is when the schools close. ' ; June comes to us from the ancient I Romans, but we aren't sure what they I named it for. Some say it was named for ■ the Goddess Juno who was the guardian I of weddings. With some of the weddings H we've seen, a guardian is a good idea to ' I insure the bridegroom gets to the church ■ on time. I: * * * \ . ; I ^Today's eclipse will be an important I one. Remember not to look directly at the ■ I sun during this solar event. Be sureJo tell I that to the youngsters, fl I * * * | , The local strawberries are coming into I market. That makes for a lot of H deliciousness in short cake, pie, even ■ soup. Yes, there's even a strawberry I soup. We'll take our strawberries tho in ' ■ pastries, with a big dub of whipped cream I atop. Can you blame us forToving June? * * * Now we'd like to tell you about some { ■ good eating places we especially enjoy: GOLDEN INN — for golden moments. I Discover the best of the shore at the I highly recommended Golden Inn, on the I oceanfront at 78th Street, in Avalon which M serves tantalizing food throughout the I day and evening. Fresh seafood, steaks and gourmet I specialties are available to suit any I palate. The atmosphere is elegant yet I relaxed, and service is alVays flawless. I Breakfast, luncheon and dinner-are ofI fered daily, with specials to 'complement I the hour. Dancing weekends to the music I of Five Easy Pieces. For reservations I call 368-5155. I / * * t S / TORTILLA FLATS — Mexican cook - m ing. Specializing in cooking from south of I the border, Tortilla Flats at 2540 Dune I Drive, Avalon offers everything from I mouth-watering appetizers to ■ -unbelievably great desserts.

Sometimes we stop at Tortilla Flats for just an appetizer, such as Empanaditas, spicy sausage filled Mexican pastries (fantastic), and other times we enjoy a Mexican dinner such as Aztec Pie, a crea-

tion of corn tortillas layered with chicken H jir beef, and covered with green chile H sauce, followed by a slice of peanut butter H pie or Kahlua mousse There are plenty H of choices in a festive atmosphere « * * S.A. WADE TAVERN — an original. I Come feasting to the S.A. Wade Tavern H and Restaurant, at 1st and New Jersey H Avenue, North Wildwood which offers ■ pleasant ambiance, quick, cheerful ser- ■ vice and delicious food. For snacks, try the homemade chili or H baked oven omelette (served in a crock H with your choice of two fillings). You'll H love the meal sized sandwiches, and H c'Early People Eaters'' (served from 5 to H 6 p.m.). The other night we enjoyed an I excellent Medallions of Filet Mignon with H Jumbo Shrimp (served over rice) for H $10.95. including the salad bar and fresh H baked bread. Desserts are homemade H daily by Joyce. Open all year. HENNY'S — always in season. Henny's I at 97th and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor is I the dean of the shore's longtime I established dining/lounge places. In season or out of season. Henny's serves up unforgettable meals; the open salad bar is always an attraction and George Johnson's piano renditions give leisurely moments Friday and Saturdaynights. The dining room is open Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9, Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10. and Sunday from 3:30 to 9. * * * MONTREAL — for Surf. Surf and Turf. Surf and turf is commonplace along the Jersey shofe, but the offering at the Montreal Restaurant and Lounge is extraordinary Located in the Montreal Inn. on Beach Drive and Madison Avenue. Cape May. the restaurant's lobster tail and filet mignon are served with steamed clams and two vegetables for just $10.95 ( from 5 to 6:30). After 6:30, the price jumps a bit to $12.95, but still worth every penny. Other offerings on the menu include the Seafood Sampler. Seafood Bon Femme and Polynesian Chicken.
