COURT HOUSE - The Mid- Jersey Cape Rotary is sponsoring JoAnn Hines. a freshman at Middle Township High School, for the upcoming American Red Cross Youth Leader ship Program The Rotary Club is paying JoAnn's registration fee. which will pay for her course at Ursinus College in Penn sylvania. July 29 to Aug 2. as conducted by the Red Cross Youth Service T!]fc students considered for "this course are youths in the ninth through ltth grades who are potential leaders in their schools, chapter, and communityPrior Red Cross experience is not required but it is desirable The Red Cross encourages these individuals to apply the skills learned from this course in their community chapter or school. Most of the staff I conducting the course are high school and collee° age youth volunteers with I previous leadership course experience In addition, a registered nurse is in residence during the course The Leadership Course covers a wide range of topics, including asser tiveness. standard first aid, ' CPR. and serving the aged, to name a fewMiss Hines is the first student to be sponsored by the Jersey Cape Rotary, and the club plans to make this an annual event Anyone interested in the 1985 course can contact the local Red Cross for further information regarding the

Beaches To Open TUCKAHOE - The Upper Township beaches will open 10 a.m. Saturday Lifeguards will be on duty 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day through Labor Day. The official opening ceremonies will be held at Williams Road and the beach. Strathraere Dick Alliger. Strathmere beach inspector, has announced the* Upper Township Beach Patrol will be headed by Jeff Hen ning as captain, and the Lieutenants are Bill McCutcheon and Paul Mc Cracken. Ruth "Cookie' Shaw of the Recreation Department is beach inspector of Beesley's Point and Tuckahoe River beaches
